Our Instructors & Staff Members
Our staff members have spent many years devoted to pursuing excellence in their field and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as instructors and trainers.
Through extensive training, certification and dedication, our staff has attained mastery in their fields and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to our members. Here are a few of Summit Fitness's staff members:
Mike Strange (Owner)
Mike has been an owner of several clubs in Oregon since 1993, and in Arizona since 2005. He sold his last 2 clubs, both Gold's Gyms, in 2004. Before that he worked for the US Forest Service as a Forester for 25 years. Mike is excited about Sierra Vista. He and wife Janet picked Sierra Vista for the weather. They find the community open and friendly and the weather is almost always great.

Julie Epperson (Operations Manager)
Julie graduated from Buena High School and is a long-term resident of Cochise County. She has extensive experience in customer service having owned and operated Sierra Christian Daycare for 9 years and My Favorite Things for 2 years. She was also a UPS driver for 7 years. In addition Julie has raised 6 children and now has 8 grand children.

Tony Rivera (Sales Manager)
Tony graduated from San Diego State with a BS degree in Kinisiology with emphasis in Fitness, Nutrition, and Health. He holds personal training certificates from NSCA and ACE and has worked many years in the fitness field in California and Arizona. Tony also has considerable experience in automobile sales

Dawn Wolf (Personal Trainer)
Dawn has a BS degree in Health Science from Weber State University, with a minor in Nutrition. She is certified by the International Sports Science Association as a Fitness Therapist, and is a certified Johnny G Spin Instructor. In 2002 she started New Day Nutrition and Fitness where she has offered personal training, fitness therapy, nutrition counseling, spinning, and fitness camps. In 2006 Dawn came to work at Summit Fitness.

Lee Itule (Personal Trainer)
Lee has been involved in the fitness industry for the past 20 years, working in Phoenix athletic clubs as an athletic/personal trainer and group exercise instructor. After receiving a Bachelor of Chemistry from ASU, she was a career firefighter for the City of Mesa for 7 years. Lee is a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine, and proud member of both the World Association of Benchers and Dead Lifters, and the American Powerlifting Federation. She has spent many years as an instructor for firefighter fitness and conditioning through Glendale and Cochise Community Colleges. Lee has also participated in half marathons and in state, national and world bench press competitions.

Debbie Logan (Lead Personal Trainer)
Debbie received her BS degree in Nutrition Sciences-Dietetics from the University of Arizona and is an ACE certified Trainer. Debbie was the Nutrition Supervisor and a personal trainer at an all women's fitness center in Tucson before opening her own business, Body in Balance Nutrition & Personal training, in 2004. She offered nutritional counseling, personal training and small group training. She enjoys helping people on their journey to "Living Healthier" and looks forward to helping you!

Ivan Trosper (Personal Trainer)
Ivan is certified as a Personal Trainer by ACE, and has completed a course in Pesonal Training and Nutrition from the US Career Institute. Ivan is a Sierra Vista native who participated in football, baseball, track, wrestling, and tennis at Buena High. He also played quarterback at New Mexico Highland Univ. Ivan is currently studying to become a Registered Dietician.

Justin Harden (Personal Trainer)
Justin moved to Sierra Vista in December 08 from Phoenix where he managed a gym and had a personal training business for 4 years. Justin is certified through AFPA and loves the challenge every new client brings with specific goals. In addition Justin spent a month in Istanbul, Turkey as a sports coach and trainer. Justin's experience varies from training people with diabetes to college and professional athletes. "Fitness and healthy living should be a way of life and not just a trend. Ryan Miller (Personal Trainer)
Ryan Miller graduated cum laude from Concordia University in St. Paul Minnesota with a B.A. in Kinesiology, emphasis in Exercise Science. She holds a personal trainer certification with NCSF as well as an interscholastic coaching certificate. Ryan played D III hockey at Concordia, Moorhead College before transferring to CSP to finish her degree. “You miss 100 % of the shots you don’t take” -Gretzky
